‘Govt analysing situation to announce winter vacation’: Pr Secretary B. K Singh Srinagar: The government is analysing the situation to announce winter vacation for schools in Kashmir, Principal Secretary School Education Department, Bishwajit Kumar Singh said Saturday. “We are looking into it. The matter will be discussed in the department and winter vacations will be announced after taking proper feedback from the concerned officials,” he said. The demand for the announcement of winter vacations in schools has become shriller given the rise in daily COVID-19 cases reported from J&K and the prevailing cold weather in Kashmir. The Supreme Court on Thursday issued a big update on the counselling session of NEET PG 2021 examinations, which now stands delayed. As per the hearing conducted on Thursday, the matter has been further deferred by the court and the NEET PG 2021 counselling stands delayed by four weeks. The Centre had told the apex court on November 25 that it has taken a considered decision to revisit the limit of Rs 8 lakh annual income fixed for determining the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category for reservation in NEET admissions for postgraduate medical courses. Srinagar, Oct 25: Government has issued fresh covid-19 guidelines, among others mandating “consent by parents or legal guardians” for students of 10th and 12th class for taking examinations in Jammu and Kashmir. Offline Board Examinations for 12th and 10th classes have been permitted to be held in staggered manner keeping in view all the social distancing norms and Covid Appropriate Behaviour. All the concerned institutions have been asked to ensure that all the students coming to the examinations venue shall carry consent for each examination duly signed by their parents/legal guardians. “The sanitisation of the examination hall, furniture and toilets should be carried out daily before and after the exams,” read the fresh guidelines, issued by Chief Secretary (Chairperson, State Executive Committee. Srinagar, Oct 20: The School Education Department Wednesday asked the government teachers not to teach at private coaching institutions. Besides, the department also asked the private tuition centers to reserve 10 percent quota for the Below Poverty Level (BPL), orphan or destitute students. In a notification issued by the Director of School Education Kashmir (DSEK), Tassaduq Hussain Mir said, “The coaching centre shall ensure that no government employee is imparting teaching in their coaching or tuition centre and the centre shall submit an affidavit duly attested by the judicial magistrate. He said that in case of any violation found from the particular coaching centre, strict action under provision of law shall be initiated against the centre and also the action under JK Civil Service Conduct Rule will be followed accordingly against the particular government employee. “The coaching centres should reserve the 10 percent of intake capacity quota for the students of community belongin...

New Delhi : Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) on Wednesday allowed students of Class X, XII to change their examination centres for the upcoming Term 1 examination in CBSE a statement, informed, “Class X and XII students who are not in the city of their schools and are residing somewhere else, at an appropriate time CBSE will inform them to make a request to their respective schools to change the city of examination centre. Schools will follow the instructions given by CBSE.” CBSE has further instructed the students to remain in touch with the official website for further notifications. Term 1 exams will take place in November-December. For class X, exams will take place from November 30 to December 11 and for Class 12, the exams will be held from December 1 to December 22.
