Goa: The state government has decided to close down the schools and colleges in the state until January 26, 2022, amidst the rising COVID cases. Odisha: School and mass education minister Samir Ranjan Dash stated, “Keeping in view the rise in the number of daily cases and based on the feedback provided by parents across the state, we have decided not to reopen schools for students of Classes 1 to 5 from January 3.” This statement from the minister came after recording the Omicron cases in the state. Physical classes were planned to be resumed in about 27,000 schools in Odisha.

Kerala : The Kerala govt on January 15 announced its decision to put on hold the offline classes for students of grade 1 to 9 for two weeks. However, there would be no change in the offline classes of 10th, 11th and 12th standards.
Chhattisgarh: Due to a steady rise in COVID-19 cases in Chhattisgarh, the state government on January 13 ordered that offline classes in colleges and universities be stopped with immediate effect, and also set an attendance cap for academic and non-academic staffers in these institutions.
Madhya Pradesh: the MP government on January 14 issued fresh guidelines, as part of which all schools and hostels for Classes 1 to 12 will remain shut in the state till January 31.
Gujarat: the Gujarat government decided to close schools for physical classes for students from Class 1 to Class 9 till January 31, 2022. Coaching centres for students Class 9 upwards and those for post-graduate courses as well as competitive exams can run at 50 percent capacity, according to government orders.
Jammu and Kashmir: the Jammu and Kashmir State Executive Committee (SEC) under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary A K Mehta issued fresh guidelines, including adoption of online classes up to college level to deal with the rising crisis. The SEC has directed the educational institutions to conduct online classes citing the risk of rising Covid-19 cases.
Mizoram: Schools will remain closed for classes 1 to 9 and class 11. All teaching will shift to the online mode. However, schools and hostels will remain open for students of classes 10 and 12, who are appearing for their board examination this year.
Karnataka: the government decided to shut schools and pre-university colleges in Bengaluru till January 20. Schools will remain open for students of class 10 and 12.
Telangana: The Telangana government has taken the decision to extend the vacations in all the educational institutions till January 30, 2022.
Bihar: Schools in Bihar will remain closed but function in online mode till January 21 for classes up to 8. Offline classes for students of 9 to 12 are allowed with COVID restrictions.
Tamil Nadu: The Tamil Nadu government has also taken the decision to close its schools for students of classes 10 to 12 until January 31, 2022.
